The world’s third largest smartphone vendor, LG is getting good response for its Optimus smartphone series. We all know that this Korean tech giant is being lagging behind in Indian smartphone market. Almost five months earlier, LG has impressed us with its latest smartphones including the Optimus G and Nexus 4 and now it seems that Korean giant has rolled its sleeves up to gain back its position and lost market share. Along with these smartphones, the company has also launched a successor model to Optimus line and named it as LG Optimus G Pro. Reportedly, the mobile maker has announced that it will be expanding the availability of its flagship phablet, G Pro for around 40 new countries. The smartphone has designed with plastic model with a shiny back panel and a good build quality. Company claims that the phone is available in White and Black colour variants.
The LG Optimus G Pro features a 5.5-inch IPS Plus LCD screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. Along side, the device has a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection making it resistant to scratches. The handset offers an internal storage space of 16GB of which 10 GB is user accessible. For further usage, the memory can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card. To ensure smooth Android applications, the smartphone runs on Android v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system. Good for gaming lovers, the device has an Adreno 320 GPU. It is loaded with a 13 megapixel rear camera having a resolution of 4208 x 3120 pixels resolution. It has other smart camera apps like autofocus, LED flash, face detection, image stabilization, panorama, HDR and Geo–tagging. It is also preloaded with 4 different visual themes, each with a different icon set, home screen wallpaper and app drawer background. The main camera is capable of recording HD videos with 1080 pixels at 30 fps and dual-video rec., HDR features. There is a secondary video calling camera with 2.1 megapixels to make video calling with HD resolution at 30 fps. It feels comfortable to hold in hands as the device has 9.4 mm and weighs around 172 g.
This phone is powered by a 3140 mAh battery which gives you around 15 hours and 30 minutes of talk time on 2G and 3G networks and 576 hours on standby. The phone incorporates GPRS and EDGE technology to stay connected on the 2G network. The phone has an assisted-GPS feature which will serve as a navigation aid in the form of Google Maps. The phone comes with special apps including a web browser, Memo pad, Calendar, Calculator and a Video player. The phone also offers Chrome in addition to the default browser. It is so sad that the smartphone doesn’t include FM radio functionality.
